The eleventh house is the harvest: income and gains, the fulfilment of ambitions, elder siblings, friends and the wider networks through which good things arrive.

What the 11th house governs

Labha means gain, and the eleventh house is where effort turns into reward: income (as distinct from the second house's savings), profits, the achievement of long-held wishes, and the people who help — friends, elder siblings, mentors, communities and audiences. It is the strongest of the upachaya houses, so almost any planet here tends to give more as life goes on.

Planets in the 11th house

Because the eleventh grows whatever is planted, even malefics are welcome: Saturn gives slow, steady gains and loyal older friends; Mars gains through effort and competition; Rahu large, unconventional income and wide networks. Jupiter, its karaka, gives abundance and generous friends; Venus gains through art and pleasure; the Sun influential connections.

Where the money actually comes from

Jyotish separates wealth into houses: the second holds it, the eleventh brings it in, and the fifth and ninth make it lucky. The eleventh lord's placement shows the channel — through career if it sits in the tenth, through partners in the seventh, through property in the fourth. A pressed eleventh is less about poverty than about wishes that stall; its remedy is community, since this is the house of what others bring you.
