VedicSync is a Vedic astrology app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
What we collect
- Birth details you enter (name, date, time, and place of birth). These are used only to compute your chart and readings. As a guest, they are stored on your device (local storage). If you create an account, your saved charts are stored on our server so they sync across devices.
- Account email and password, if you sign up. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash — we never see your plaintext password.
- Email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in to reminder emails.
- Payment information, if you subscribe to Premium or buy a gift. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card number.
- Anonymous, aggregate usage counts (e.g. "a chart was cast") with no personal identifiers, IP addresses, or birth data — used only to understand which features are used.
How we use it
- To compute your charts, readings, and the features you request.
- To operate your account, sync your saved charts, and process subscriptions.
- To send the emails you opted into (reminders, weekly newsletter, birthday note). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- To keep the service reliable and understand feature usage in aggregate.
Third parties we rely on
- Stripe — payment processing (subscriptions, gifts).
- Brevo — sending transactional and newsletter emails.
- Anthropic (Claude) — generating the optional AI reading. Only your computed chart factors are sent for interpretation; it is not used to train models.
- Cloudflare and Render — content delivery and hosting.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except as needed to provide these services or where required by law.
Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your charts, preferences, and session. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices & rights
- Delete your account and data at any time in the app (Settings → Your account → Delete account), which permanently removes your account and saved charts.
- Unsubscribe from any email via its one-click link.
- Guest data lives only on your device; clearing your browser storage removes it.
- Request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us (below).
Children
VedicSync is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
