What Grahan Dosha is
An eclipse happens when Rahu or Ketu — the points where the Moon's path meets the Sun's — lines up with a luminary and blocks its light. When the same contact appears in a birth chart, with the Sun or Moon sitting in the node's sign, it is called Grahan Dosha: a luminary whose steady light is partly clouded. Surya Grahan is the Sun's version; Chandra Grahan is the Moon's.
How it forms
The plain signature is the Sun conjunct Rahu or Ketu, or the Moon conjunct Rahu or Ketu, in one sign. The Sun version touches confidence, authority and the father; the Moon version touches mood, security and the mother. The house it falls in shows where the clouding is felt most.
